Mitchell Lake and Blue Lake - 6 miles and 930 ft EG - 2nd hike

I'm posting a second hike to Blue Lake for July since the wait-list for the July 15th hike is pretty long. The mountain scenery is amazing and once we get above tree line there are wildflowers everywhere. There is also a good chance of moose sightings.

The Brainard Lake recreation area is part of the Indian Peaks Wilderness, so group hikes are limited to 7 hikers. We will carpool from the Brainard Lake winter parking lot to the trailhead. We are leaving at 8:05 sharp, so please be on time. I hope to get a parking permit for the Mitchell Lake trailhead when the reservation window opens.

Please bring sun protection, poles and/or micro-spikes, water, and a snack/lunch.
