Lower Crater Lakes - 6.7 miles and 1,350 feet EG

Let's hike to beautiful Crater Lakes via South Boulder Creek trail before the snow stays at higher elevations. This is a mostly wooded trail with some steep and rocky terrain just below the lower lakes. We will not hike to the upper lake.

Please bring layers, water, snacks and traction devices (microspikes or crampons). If there is interest, we could get lunch in Nederland afterwards.

We will meet at the East Portal trailhead about 8 miles west of Rollinsville. The road from Rollinsville to the trailhead is unpaved but usually in good condition. Please carpool if possible.
