There is no fee to access this trail from the trailhead shown here, as it begins from outside the Brainard Lake Recreation Area fee entrance in the Winter Lot. This lollipop-style loop follows the popular Sourdough Trail up and north of St. Vrain Creek where it follows the Wapiti Trail Loop. Hikers can enjoy some gorgeous scenery and some excellent views throughout the hike.

We'll meet in the Brainard Lake Winter Lot and will wait approximately 5 min for those running a bit late; the trail starts from that parking area.

Please bring layers, sun protection, water and a snack for a mid-hike break.
