About us
This is the Boulder chapter of Women in Machine Learning and Data Science (WiMLDS). We aim to provide a supportive, inclusive, and educational community for women interested in data. We are inclusive of anyone who identifies as female or gender expansive.
We host events which include networking events and talks by and for those working in data science, machine learning, AI or adjacent fields. We aim to enhance technical and career skills in the field. Our members include engineers, technologists, statisticians, students and many other professionals who work in data science, machine learning or AI or who would like to transition into this field.
Women are invited to join our Slack group by sending an email to slack@wimlds.org. We also have a LinkedIn group which women can join by request via that link.

Seeing the Unseen: How Deep Learning Unlocks Hidden Medical Image Data
Location not specified yetHello Boulder WiMLDS! We are finally able to reschedule our talk from the crazy wind cancelation in December.
New Event Platform
Please note that we are moving to a new event Platform: Luma
You will not be able to RSVP in Meetup. Instead please follow the link to RSVP even if you cannot attend this event but wish to receive further event notices: https://luma.com/cjxjirw3Event Details
Join us for networking and a presentation from Adele Peskin, computer scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Adele has been using machine learning techniques to extract medical data from images where other numerical techniques do not work. At NIST, convolutional neural networks are used to process many different types of medical data. Adele will show the results of improving very low field noisy MRI images for medical diagnosis and extracting complex 4-D image features in early tumor detection. The venue location
Uplight, a local software company located in the Boulder Commons, will be hosting the event. Someone will meet you at the lobby door of 2490 Junction Pl (next to Logan's Espresso Cafe) and show you up to the office space. Please arrive no later than 5:45pm. There is pay parking on the street in front of the building and some free parking in the neighborhood.5:30 Meet and greet
5:45 Presentation
Networking to follow. Light snacks will be provided.Looking forward to seeing you and growing our community of women interested in data science!
