January's hybrid meeting—IN PERSON at the Boulder Library Main Branch second floor Arapahoe Meeting Room & ONLINE (see link when you register)—is Transcription by Ben Lerner (USA, 2026) on Sunday starting at 2:30 pm (for 2 hours).

A broken iPhone, an important interview, and a faulty memory kick off Ben Lerner's latest novel about miscommunication. The narrator interviews Thomas, a famous intellectual, who also happens to be his mentor, his inspiration—a father figure, almost. Sons become flawed transcriptions of their fathers, imperfect clones of misremembered misinterpretations. Similarly, our ubiquitous digital devices serve up unfaithful visions of reality that, while entertaining, are no substitute for actually connecting with another human being.

We ask that all attendees read the entire book in advance of the meeting. More information about other Writers Who Read meetings and our WwR Podcast can be found at: https://WritersWhoRead.com
