Writers Who Read: Partita - Barbara Kingsolver
Details
June's hybrid meeting—IN PERSON at the Boulder Library Main Branch second floor Arapahoe Meeting Room & ONLINE (see link when you register)—is Partita by Barbara Kingsolver (USA, 2026) on Sunday starting at 2:30 pm (for 2 hours).
Livia Cable hails from rural Tennessee, a piano prodigy who grew up in a household full of bitterness and regret. While studying music at IU in Bloomington, Indiana, she meets a man who will both broaden her horizons and scar her for life. What follows are Livia's attempts to piece her life back together, one note at a time. Author Barbara Kingsolver prefaces her latest novel with a list of required listening: piano music of Bach, Schubert, Chopin, and, most importantly for her story, Ravel's Gaspard de la Nuit.
We ask that all attendees read the entire book in advance of the meeting. More information about other Writers Who Read meetings and our WwR Podcast can be found at: https://WritersWhoRead.com
