
What we’re about
Boulder Yoga in the Park brings people together to connect with nature, spirituality, and each other. Classes are led by Rachel in the peaceful setting of Howard Heuston Park. The classes are Dharma-yoga style, which are slow and stretchy. Everyone is invited, whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner.
About teacher:
Hi I'm Rachel Melo, the yoga teacher! My teaching style is a mix of Dharma-inspired yoga and Hatha.
I encourage playfulness, not perfection, and provide modifications and hands-on adjustments as needed.
A little more about my history with yoga and meditation: I've been practicing vipassana meditation since 2014. I began practicing Mysore Ashtanga in 2018 and later fell in love with Dharma yoga. It's a graceful yet challenging style of yoga based on Sri Dharma Mittra's classical yoga practice. In my classes you can expect lots of backbends (heart openers), inversions, stretches, and some strengthening poses.
I earned my RYT 200 hour certification from Yoga District DC in 2020.
I look forward to welcoming the community to yoga in the park!
