Talk #1
Haley Mesander
Title: "Trailblazer: Is it trailblazing?"
Description: Trailblazer is a high-level architecture for Rails applications built on top of the conventional MVC pattern. It encourages encapsulation and organizes code into smaller, reusable components. But is it truly trailblazing? What are the pros and cons of using Trailblazer in your Rails applications? How is it being utilized at Nanno as we continue to scale?
Bio: Haley is a film photography nerd and former educator turned software developer. Since completing the Back End Program at Turing this fall, she has been working as an Intern at Nanno and serving as a tutor and mentor to current Turing students. When not working, she is usually hauling a 40-lb camera to a remote location to get a perfect shot.

Talk #2
Tim Tyrrell
Title: "CDN's: Saving Your Bacon at Scale"
Mediavine is currently heavily leaning a CDN which allows them to scale a sizable amount of traffic with low cost Heroku dynos. Tim will talk about how they leverage Fastly's CDN with a number of use cases and also explore how Fastly's feature set stacks up against other CDN providers.
Tim Tyrrell is currently the Director of Software Engineering at Mediavine. He has spent over a decade writing software but now spends more time on the management side of things. He is a fan of orange cats and short bios.
