Winter 14ers: Mt Bierstadt (TENTATIVE)

Let's celebrate the official start of winter with a 14er hike. Mt Bierstadt is a very popular hike in the summer. In the winter, expect fewer people.

Starting at the winter trailhead, hike 1.5 miles up to the summer trailhead, then follow the usual trail up to the summit.

The total distance is roughly 10 miles with about 3300' of gain.

Since it is winter, bring the usual winter gear, microspikes, and we may also need snowshoes TBD.

Snowstorms, high winds or excessively cold temps cancel.

Priority will be given to people who have hiked with me and/or have 13er/14er winter hiking experience.

Meet at the Eldo park n ride in south Boulder off 93 at 530am to coordinate carpool.
