Beat the Heat - Dugas/Dumont Hill Park Trail (Scottsville, KY)

We will start our walk at the main trailhead for Dugas/DuMont Hill Park on N Bedelia Street, Scottsville, Kentucky. The park offers a two-mile nature trail and several spur trails within the park. Terrain is gently rolling on a mostly gravel path that winds though the trees, past a cave entrance, and along a seasonal stream. There is also a paved path that leads by signs detailing the 1862 encampment of Civil War General Ebenezer Dumont and his Union troops. See trail map in the photo section. Your well-behaved dog on a lease is welcome.

There is a restroom at the main park pavilion. If the gate is closed, go up the street to the Core (former YMCA) and drive into the back parking lot where there is a trailhead.

Bring water. Hiking or tennis shoes required.
