Hello everyone,
I would like to invite everyone to celebrate our 17 years of existence!!!
For those who don't know our story: seventeen years ago, at the Empire Café restaurant on Westheimer near Montrose, we (A good friend who is no longer with us, Decio and I) decided to start this Meetup. As November was the month of our 17th anniversary, we have to celebrate. After all, we would like to thank everyone because if it weren't for you, this group would not exist.
Being our first meeting in December, the Portuguese Meetup will take place in a very different location, very Portuguese. OPORTO Fooding House & Wine is the evolution of Oporto Wine Cafe, a food & wine bar concept founded in 2006 by Rick Di Virgilio. A rustic Portuguese inspired menu with a boutique old world wine list and a proper cocktail bar alongside a cafe. An original all day cafe and bar was born! The restaurant has an extensive dining menu. Light dinner options that pair well with wines, beers and cocktails include the charcuterie boards and cheese selections. Those with heftier appetites can choose from favorites like the bacalhau com natas, or "gratin of salted cod," and the espetada de carne or "wood-grilled beef tenderloin." Vegetarian options at OPORTO include soups, salads and much more.
If you arrive early, the restaurant staffs have been informed about the group and will point everyone in the right direction, just ask for the Portuguese Meetup.
It will be fun times with food and company that we promise you won't want to miss!
Come celebrate with us this great moment of existence.
We look forward to seeing everyone.
Cheer!!!!!
Lucien &Vera
