Breaking Boundaries creates authentic community and social experiences for adults (25–55ish) with limited mobility throughout Santa Clara County. By prioritizing universal design, we ensure accessibility is the standard, so that unnecessary barriers never get the final word.

Get ready to rock the block! Breaking Boundaries is rolling out to the Sunnyvale Downtown Music Series for an outdoor evening filled with classic rock tunes, high-energy dancing, and delicious food. We’ll be enjoying the show from the Metro City Restaurant & Bar outdoor patio, directly on the historic, lively strip.
Whether you want to grab global comfort bites, sip a cold craft beer, or just soak up the summer vibes and open-air street rhythms, this is the perfect mid-week escape to unwind with friends.

- Seating: Accessible indoor and outdoor patio seating options are available with removable chairs to easily accommodate powerchairs and manual chairs.
- Crowds: The street music series draws a lively local crowd; expect a bustling, high-sensory festive environment.

- Paratransit: Provide the restaurant address for drop-off (151 S Murphy Ave). The driver can drop off at the end of pedestrian-only Murphy Ave.
- Public Transit: The venue is conveniently located just a short block away from the Sunnyvale Caltrain station and nearby VTA bus lines.
- Free Parking: Available in the multi-level downtown public parking structures on nearby Washington Ave and Taaffe St, which offer marked ADA accessible spaces and elevator access.

RSVP by: Wednesday, August 19, 2026Ready to push past your standard weekend routine and immerse yourself in a massive outdoor gallery? Join Breaking Boundaries as we hit the 43rd Annual Palo Alto Festival of the Arts!
We’ll stroll through 250+ fine art booths, watch live Italian street painting (chalk art), and enjoy sidewalk piano virtuosos. This event is a great way to soak up the summer culture at a pace that works for everyone.
🕑 Schedule
10:00 AM: Meet at the Caltrain Plaza for introductions and check-in.
10:30 AM: Explore the fine arts booths and Italian Street Painting Expo on Tasso St.
12:30 PM: Lunch at the food vendor area and live music.
2:00 PM: Visit the Ramona Beats & Brews zone for DJ sets and socializing.
3:00 PM: Official Meetup ends, but feel free to keep exploring the 9-block festival until it closes at 6:00 PM!📝 We'll break into smaller groups after checking in to make browsing booths and navigating the crowds easier.

- Terrain: The festival covers 9 blocks of University Ave, which is flat, smooth asphalt with level transitions from the Caltrain Plaza.
- Rest: Numerous benches and shady tree cutouts are available along the route for frequent breaks.
- Restrooms: ADA-compliant portable restrooms are located at major intersections (typically Cowper and Bryant Streets).
- Crowds: Arriving at 10 AM helps us beat the densest afternoon crowds, making it easier to navigate mobility devices.

- Caltrain: The station is fully accessible with ramps; the plaza is directly adjacent to the festival entrance.
- ADA Parking: Dedicated spaces are available in City Lot R (440 Bryant St) and City Lot S (445 Bryant St).

- Sun & Heat Gear: Sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and a cooling vest or portable fan to help manage heat intolerance on the asphalt.

RSVP by: Tuesday, September 8, 2026Get ready to experience one of the premier outdoor cultural celebrations in the Bay Area! We are heading out to the spectacular 54th Annual Mountain View Art & Wine Festival 2026 to admire beautiful handcrafted items from over 400 talented artists, listen to exceptional live music, and soak in the lively community atmosphere. The festival is completely free to enter. Food, wine, and craft beers are available for individual purchase from various local street vendors throughout the event.
🕑 Schedule
- 10:45 AM Meetup and check-in.
- 11:00 AM The festival officially opens! We will explore the vibrant artist booths along Castro Street at a relaxed, leisurely pace.
- 1:00 PM Regroup near the Community Stage area to grab food from the gourmet food trucks, sip drinks, and enjoy the live music performances.
- 2:00 PM Official Meetup ends.
📝 Official Meetup ends with lunch, but the festival goes on until 7:00 PM. You can head home or continue to enjoy the activities at your own pace.
♿️ Accessibility
- Entirely flat, wide, asphalt city streets along Castro Street. Curbs have standard ADA curb cuts, though minor lips or festival utility cable covers may cross parts of the street.
- Accessible portable restrooms and public facilities are designated on the festival map near major intersections along Castro Street.
- This is a large, popular festival. Crowds can become dense in the afternoon, which might limit tight turning radiuses. We are arriving early to beat the peak rush!

Click here for the most up-to-date info on parking & transit.- Paratransit: VTA ACCESS and ride-share should direct drivers to and Lot 12, located at 490 Bryant Street between California Street and Mercy Street.
- Public Transit: Caltrain and VTA Light Rail drop off directly at the Mountain View Transit Center. This is the most seamless, stress-free route to the event.
- ADA Parking: Free public parking structures feature designated ADA spaces. The Mountain View Civic Center Garage (under the Performing Arts Center at 500 Castro St) can be accessed via Mercy Street. Additional accessible spaces can be found at the Bryant Street structure.
📝 The VTA station is the most reliable "low-stress" arrival point if you want to avoid the struggle of festival-day parking garages.

- Sun Protection: Wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen for this fully outdoor street venue.
- Cooling Products: Battery-operated misting fans or cooling neck towels to manage heat sensitivities.
- Bug Repellent: Insect defense spray or wipes for outdoor comfort.
- Funding: Cash or card for your optional food, wine, and craft beer purchases.
- Comfort Items: A light jacket (in case of breezes) and your own water bottle to stay hydrated. Bringing a rollator or scooter is recommended if you require frequent rest.
