Breaking Boundaries is a peer-run group that creates authentic community and social experiences for adults (25–55ish) with limited mobility throughout Santa Clara County. By prioritizing universal design, we ensure accessibility is the standard, so that unnecessary barriers never get the final word.

RSVP by: October 14, 2026Grab your lederhosen or dirndls and get ready to celebrate! Join Breaking Boundaries for a festive afternoon in Historic Downtown Campbell for the award-winning Campbell Oktoberfest.
We’ll enjoy over 100 arts and crafts booths, live music, a lively Biersch Garten, and delicious Bavarian pretzels. Because festivals can get very busy, we'll aim to stay together as a single group, but will split into smaller groups if necessary to ensure everyone's comfort.
🕑 Schedule
- 10:00 AM: Meetup time! Gather at the meeting spot for check-in and to divide into smaller guided groups as necessary.
- 10:30 AM: The festival officially opens its music and booth areas. We will stroll through the artisan booths, listen to live bands, and explore the street performances at a relaxed, comfortable pace.
- 1:00 PM: Lunch time! We'll gather at the accessible seating areas near the Community Stage and food vendors to eat, drink, and chat.
- 2:00 PM: Scheduled end of meetup. You are welcome to stay and enjoy the remaining entertainment on your own until 5:00 PM!
🥨 Food & Drink
We will be gathering for lunch at the accessible seating zones near the Community Stage. There will be extensive German and standard festival food, as well as Gordon Biersch beer and ales.♿️ Accessibility
- Terrain: The festival is set along paved downtown streets. There are no steep hills, making it highly navigable. However, be aware of uneven pavement, temporary vendor ramps, and watch your step.
- Restrooms: Accessible portable restrooms are provided throughout the festival footprint. ADA-compliant restrooms are also available inside the Campbell Library and City Hall.
- Crowds: Paved areas can get highly congested in the afternoon.
🚘 Parking & Transit
Official Accessibility Map- VTA ACCESS Paratransit: Drop-off and pick-up are best coordinated at Campbell City Hall (70 N. 1st St.), which features flat and accessible paths to the festival.
- Parking: Designated disabled parking is available at City Hall and the Campbell Library. General public parking is available in multiple free downtown garages (e.g., the 1st Street Garage).

Not every adventure requires leaving the house. Whether you're managing fatigue, having a flare day, conserving spoons, or just in the mood to socialize from your favorite comfy spot, join us for a relaxed virtual hangout with the Breaking Boundaries community.
This isn't a support group, it's simply a chance to laugh, chat, get to know each other better, and enjoy some genuine connection from wherever you are. Bring your favorite drink, share what's been going on lately, or just listen in. Cameras are optional, and there's zero pressure to talk if you're feeling quiet.
Sometimes the shortest distance between friends is a Zoom call. 💙

Breaking Boundaries will be competing in a spooky photo scavenger hunt down vibrant, festive Castro Street. We’ll stroll past amazing storefronts, competitive restaurant windows, and eerie holiday setups.
Our final destination is the beautiful Alexander's Patisserie, where we will warm up with premium teas, artisanal lattes, and upscale French pastries while we tally up the scores and award the winning team!
Costumes or spooky accessories are highly encouraged!!
📝 We'll need a minimum of 6 participants for this event.
🕑 Schedule
- 5:30 PM Check-in, rules briefing, and team division (Outside Alexander's Patisserie)
- 6:00 PM Scavenger Hunt
- 7:00 PM Re-group at Alexander's Patisserie for pastries, hot drinks, and scoring
- 8:00 PM Event ends, but feel free to hang out and chat as long as you want!
📝 Please plan ahead and don't be late; we'll be starting the hunt promptly at 6pm.

- Terrain: The entire route along Castro Street features wide, flat, and smoothly paved sidewalks with excellent, broad curb cuts at every intersection.
- Thoroughfare: Sidewalk clearing is excellent and spacious, easily navigating past the downtown outdoor dining plazas.
- Alexander's Patisserie: Features a completely step-free front entrance, smooth transition flooring, spacious indoor and outdoor pedestrian seating options, and a fully wheelchair-accessible restroom on-site.
- Public Restrooms: Additional public accessible restrooms are located nearby at the Mountain View Public Library plaza.

- Paratransit: Closest drop-off is next door at Red Rock Coffee on the corner of Castro and Villa (201 Villa Street)
- Transit: The venue is conveniently located just a few short blocks from the fully accessible Mountain View Caltrain & VTA Light Rail Transit Center.
- Accessible Parking: Free accessible parking spaces are available in the dedicated lot directly behind Alexander's Patisserie, as well as the nearby Bryant Street and Hope Street public parking structures.
