Breaking Boundaries creates authentic community and social experiences for adults (25–55ish) with limited mobility throughout Santa Clara County. By prioritizing universal design, we ensure accessibility is the standard, so that unnecessary barriers never get the final word.

🎆 Fireworks & Freedom: Accessible 4th of July Picnic at Mission College

RSVP by: July 1stBring the fam, and let's celebrate Independence Day together! We’re heading to the Santa Clara All-City Picnic at Mission College for an evening of live music, kids’ activities, and food trucks, all leading up to a spectacular fireworks show.
This venue is a great choice for our group because the campus is largely flat and paved, making it much easier to navigate than traditional park grass.
🕑 What to Expect
4:00 PM: Gates and security screenings open. We'll gather by the main stage.5:00 PM: Live entertainment begins—local bands and performers will be playing all evening.
Before the fireworks light up the sky, grab a bite to eat from one of the many food truck options, or head over to the Kids' Activities area for free, carnival games, face painting, temporary tattoos, and more!
9:40 PM: Fireworks Extravaganza begins!
Expect delays when leaving; we'll hang out for 20-30 minutes after the show to let the initial crowd clear.
♿️ Accessibility
Parking: Limited accessible parking is available in the Visitor Lot and Staff Lot E on a first-come, first-served basis.Drop-off: There’s a drop-off zone available at the main entrance.
Facilities: The campus has accessible restrooms and the event area consists of wide, paved paths.

RSVP by: Friday, July 10thJoin us for a peaceful Sunday morning stroll through one of San Jose’s most beautiful landmarks. We’ll enjoy the summer blooms before the midday heat, followed by a light picnic in the shade of the redwoods.
This event is designed with a slow pace in mind, perfect for socializing and enjoying the outdoors.
🕑 Itinerary
9:00 AM: Meet at the Fountain Arbor. It’s centrally located and has benches for those who want to rest while the group gathers.
9:30 AM: A gentle accessible stroll. We will stick to the wide, paved concrete paths that loop through the 4,000+ rose bushes.
10:30 AM: Picnic & Socializing. We’ll settle into the shaded grassy area near the redwood trees to relax and enjoy some morning treats.🥐 Community Picnic
Let's lean into a "European Garden Tea" theme with flaky pastries and easy-to-eat morning bites!If you’d like to contribute, here are some suggested items that are easy to share and enjoy in the garden:
- Morning Pastries: Mini scones, buttery croissants, or freshly baked muffins.
- Light Bites: Cubed cheese, chilled berries, or fruit.
- Refreshing Drinks: Infused water, iced tea, or juice.

Pathways: The main loops are smooth, flat concrete, making them ideal for wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters.
Restrooms: Accessible restrooms are located near the park entrances.
Paratransit Drop-off: Use the main garden address (1649 Naglee Ave). Instruct your driver to drop you off at the main entrance gate near the corner of Naglee Ave and Dana Ave for direct curb-cut path access.
ADA Parking: Designated blue ADA spaces are located right on Naglee Avenue by the main gates.
Parking: Free street parking is available surrounding the garden (Dana and Naglee Avenues).✅️ What to Bring

Breaking Boundaries is heading to the 44th Annual Italian Family Festa for a day of authentic food, live music, and cultural charm.Whether you’re here for the marionette variety show, the grape stomp, or just the world-class gelato, there’s something for everyone to enjoy under the trees of History Park.
🕑 Schedule
- 11:30 AM: We’ll check in at the Japanese Friendship Garden entrance and stroll through “Cultural Village.”
- 12:00 PM: "The Vaudeville Follies" Marionette Show at the Teatro per Bambini stage.
- 1:00 PM: Mangia, mangia! Grab some authentic pasta or pizza from the local vendors and meetup at the shaded picnic area.
📝 Official Meetup ends with lunch, but the festival runs until 6:00 PM, so you can feel free to explore the festivities on your own!
♿️ Accessibility
- Terrain: History Park has paved paths, though some areas may have packed gravel or uneven historic surfaces.
- Mobility Shuttles: Two 5-seat golf carts will be shuttling people from the Kelley Park parking lot to the main entrance for those who need a lift.
- Restrooms: ADA-compliant restrooms are located within the park’s modern buildings and the Japanese Friendship Garden.
- Seating: Many performance areas are open-air; we will look for spots in the shade.
🚘 Parking & Transit
- Paratransit: Use 1300 Senter Rd for the Japanese Friendship Garden gate drop-off. It is the festival's suggested drop-off for easier access and less congestion.
- Paid Parking: Available at the Kelley Park Lot on Phelan Ave for approximately $10.
- Free Parking: Limited free parking is available in the County lots at 1870 & 1888 Senter Road (approx. a two-block distance).

- Sun protection (hats, sunscreen) as much of the park is outdoors.
- Money for food, wine tasting, or unique Italian crafts.
- Lightweight lawn chair or blanket, as public seating can fill up quickly.

RSVP by: Thursday, July 30, 2026Join us for a dramatic evening under the stars as the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival brings "Antony and Cleopatra" to Cupertino! This timeless story of power and passion is set against the backdrop of Rome and Egypt.
The performance is free, open to all, and runs for approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.

- 5:00 PM: Meet for check-ins and to secure our accessible seating area.
- 6:00 PM: Performance begins.
- 7:30 PM: Estimated show conclusion.

The park features wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms, and paved walking paths.
- ADA Accessible Restrooms: Located directly behind the amphitheater near the playground.
- Accessible Seating: There is a limited amount of ground-level paved area near the front of the seating area specifically for accessibility. This area is also first-come, first-served.
🚘 Parking & Transit
- Free Public Parking: Available at the Cupertino Senior Center (21251 Stevens Creek Blvd) and the Quinlan Center lot (Stelling Rd and Alves Dr).
- VTA ACCESS: Use the Memorial Park Amphitheater address (21163 Anton Way) for paratransit drop-off.
- Public Transit: Served by Rapid 23 and 523 bus lines at Stevens Creek Blvd & Stelling Rd.

- Sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses).
- Folding lawn chair (seat less than 12" off the ground is preferred for visibility) or a blanket.
- Layers of clothing as it can get chilly after sunset.
- Picnic dinner and non-alcoholic beverages.
