Join us for a peaceful Sunday morning stroll through one of San Jose’s most beautiful landmarks. We’ll enjoy the summer blooms before the midday heat, followed by a light picnic in the shade of the redwoods.

This event is designed with a slow pace in mind, perfect for socializing and enjoying the outdoors.

🕑 Itinerary
9:00 AM: Meet at the Fountain Arbor. It’s centrally located and has benches for those who want to rest while the group gathers.
9:30 AM: A gentle accessible stroll. We will stick to the wide, paved concrete paths that loop through the 4,000+ rose bushes.
10:30 AM: Picnic & Socializing. We’ll settle into the shaded grassy area near the redwood trees to relax and enjoy some morning treats.

🥐 Community Picnic
Let's lean into a "European Garden Tea" theme with flaky pastries and easy-to-eat morning bites!

If you’d like to contribute, here are some suggested items that are easy to share and enjoy in the garden:

  • Morning Pastries: Mini scones, buttery croissants, or freshly baked muffins.
  • Light Bites: Cubed cheese, chilled berries, or fruit.
  • Refreshing Drinks: Infused water, iced tea, or juice.

♿️ Accessibility
Pathways: The main loops are smooth, flat concrete, making them ideal for wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters.
Restrooms: Accessible restrooms are located near the park entrances.
Paratransit Drop-off: Use the main garden address (1649 Naglee Ave). Instruct your driver to drop you off at the main entrance gate near the corner of Naglee Ave and Dana Ave for direct curb-cut path access.
ADA Parking: Designated blue ADA spaces are located right on Naglee Avenue by the main gates.
Parking: Free street parking is available surrounding the garden (Dana and Naglee Avenues).

✅️ What to Bring
A comfortable lawn chair or picnic blanket if you prefer your own seating, morning treats to share, and sun protection for the garden walk.
