A reflective workshop on values and choice in the woods of Forêt de Soignes, combining meditation, expressive writing, and a symbolic release ritual.

Many of us carry values, expectations, and “shoulds” that we did not consciously choose. They may come from family, culture, work, relationships, or society, and can shape how we see success, make decisions, and relate to ourselves.

Some of these values still feel true and supportive. Others can create pressure, self-doubt, burnout, or the feeling that we are living according to someone else’s idea of a good life.

This workshop is a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. Together, we will explore what you are carrying, where it came from, how it affects your choices, and what you may want to keep, reshape, or release. The focus is not on blaming yourself or fixing everything at once, but on noticing with honesty and compassion.

This workshop is for anyone feeling stuck, burned out, disconnected from their work, or ready to make more intentional choices. It is an intentionally welcoming space for people of colour, LGBTQ+ people, women, and others affected by systemic inequalities.

The Agenda

  1. Emotions Exploration: We’ll learn how to identify and name our emotions, and explore how they can influence the decisions we make in our lives.
  2. A short meditation to look honestly and compassionately at your life as it is now, including your relationships, work, routines, and emotions.
  3. Expressive Writing: Through guided writing prompts, we’ll reflect on the decisions that have shaped our lives, the influences we have carried from others, and the ways we have responded to the opportunities and circumstances around us.
  4. Exploring Unchosen Values: We’ll identify one inherited value, expectation, or “should” and reflect on where it came from, how it shapes our choices, and whether it still feels true.
  5. Release Ritual: We’ll write down one expectation, value, or “should” that we are ready to loosen or let go of, then burn it safely as a symbolic act of release.
  6. Closing Reflection, Tea and Homemade Snacks: We’ll close with a reflection on what we want to carry forward and one small action we can take afterwards. Then we’ll share tea and homemade snacks together, with time to settle, connect, and gently return from the workshop. You will also receive a recording of the meditation to support you afterwards.
