About us

Welcome to the Breathwork for Authenticity / Growth Meetup! This group is for individuals who are interested in using breathwork as a tool for personal growth, self-discovery, and creating the life they desire.
I am enrolled in a 10-month Conscious Connected Breathwork Facilitator training course. (I'm in month 8.) As part of my requirements for graduation, I need to conduct group CCB sessions. I invite you to join these sessions and enjoy what CCB has to offer!

Through guided Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB) practices, we will explore our authentic selves, release limiting beliefs, and cultivate emotional healing and transformation.

Conscious connected breathwork is a technique where you breathe continuously—no pauses between inhale and exhale—in a steady, intentional rhythm. The goal is to shift your nervous system, often leading to emotional release, increased body awareness, and a sense of clarity or calm.
What it does:

  • Activates the autonomic nervous system
  • Can bring up stored emotions or tension
  • Often used for stress relief, self-exploration, or personal growth

Our sessions will be one hour including introductions, a short guided meditation and 30 minutes of CCB, then time to relax and share if you would like.

Contraindications:

This isn’t for everyone. It can be intense, and in some cases physiologically and psychologically activating. Avoid or consult a professional first if you have:

Cardiovascular conditions

  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease
  • History of stroke or aneurysm

Respiratory issues

  • Severe asthma
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary conditions

Neurological conditions

  • Epilepsy or seizure disorders

Mental health conditions

  • Severe anxiety or panic disorders
  • PTSD (can trigger flashbacks)
  • Psychosis or schizophrenia
  • Bipolar disorder (especially manic phases)

Other medical considerations

  • Pregnancy
  • Recent surgery or physical injury
  • Glaucoma (pressure changes can be an issue)

Why these matter

The breathing pattern can:

  • alter CO₂/O₂ balance
  • increase heart rate and blood pressure temporarily
  • trigger strong emotional or physical responses

That’s great in the right context—but risky if your system is already vulnerable.

Bottom line

Conscious connected breathwork can be powerful, but it’s not a casual relaxation exercise. If there’s any medical or psychological condition in play, it’s worth checking with a professional or working with a trained facilitator rather than doing it solo.
