NJ electric bills are going up about $40/mo in 2026 because of insatiable electric demand of data centers that fuel the engines of AI.
By 2030, data centers could add up to 44 tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere (equal to 10 million more cars). In addition to higher utilities, data centers will worsen the climate crisis, increase noise pollution, spur up more extreme weather disasters, and push insurance premiums ever higher and higher.
