Hike Fulking loop from Devil's Dyke π₯Ύβ°οΈ
Devils Dyke, THE DEVIL'S DYKE Dyke Road, Poynings, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 8YJ, Poynings, al, GBJoin us for a walk through the picturesque Devil's Dyke, one of the most iconic walks in the South Downs. Beautiful scenery, with a pub at the end... how better to spend a Sunday?
Trail: 8 miles/13 Km should take 3.5-4 hours. The trail is medium difficulty with a couple of hills.
What to bring: Snacks (vegan only please), drinks (water not vodka), and a waterproof (because this is the UK). This might be a little muddy and walking boots are ecouraged, though not a necessity... but your brand new vans will get dirty, so wear shoes you don't mind getting a bit messed up.
Getting there: I will be going by bus from Booth Museum, taking the 77. If you want to join me message me on 07769173503. You will need to be able to get to the Booth Museum by 13:05 at the latest.
Bus ππ catch the Breeze 77 which goes straight up to the starting point. There is one which gets there for 13:24. Cost is around Β£6.30 return, though they sometimes do Β£3 each way tickets.
Car π there is a car park, which you have to pay for. It will likely be very busy and does not have lots of spots.
Taxi π local taxi companies will be able to take you there and back but will likely be quite expensive, Uber costs Β£15-20 each way.
End and getting back: The hike will likely take 4 hours with breaks, which means we should get back to the car park/ pub around 17:30ish. the next bus will be at 18:00 at that point, so we will grab a drink in the pub or hang out nearby for a bit if it's nice.
Weather π§ This is the UK. The weather is at best unpredictable so we will check the day before and post whether this can go ahead. Light rain will not stop us and even if it looks sunny, bring a waterproof.
Any questions text James on 07769173503.

Volunteer Day at Lotus Lamb and Animal Sanctuary
Ashington Parish Church, Church Ln, Ashington, Pulborough RH20 3JX, Pulborough, GBRSVP will open two weeks before the event, 6th June
π¨ Extremely wholesome meetup alert π¨
This oneβs a good'un β meet lots of adorable pigs, turkeys, chickens, horses, a donkey and a cat at Lotus Lamb and Animal Sanctuary!
Lotus is in the process of moving sites so lots needs to be done. We'll be either shovelling and wheelbarrowing πͺ or taking down fences π but donβt worry, no specialist knowledge or super strength required, we'll be in it together.
Of course, saying hi to the animals will be a lovely part of the day, but be ready to also do some hard, satisfying manual labour! Bring gloves and clothing you donβt mind getting muddy, plus hardy shoes or wellies. There is no drinking water or cafe on site so bring plenty of water/drinks and snacks/lunch (vegan only). Bring suncream, protective hats and a raincoat as well, depending on the weather!
There are compost toilets but please be aware these are just very basic outdoor loos (think festival toilets!).
If coming by public transport:
Meet at Brighton Station at 9.45. Weβll be getting the 9.58 train to Worthing and then the 23 bus to Ashington, and coming back the same route (takes about an hour each way). Comment on this post if youβre coming via public transport and weβll meet by the piano in Brighton station β please be on time, we will need to get on the specified train with or without you!If driving:
Park at Ashington Parish Church and meet us there at 11.10, then we can walk in together (the Sanctuary is a bit hidden!) If youβre driving and can offer lifts from Brighton/nearby, please comment on the post and we can try and organise a car pool if youβre willing!***
RSVP: If you are unable to attend after saying you can come, then please change your RSVP and let Emily F know to give others a chance to join. Repeatedly not showing up or cancelling at the last minute (<24hrs for this event) will affect your ability to attend in the future.
