Bank Holiday Hike Ditchling Beacon from Falmer ๐ฅพโฐ๏ธ๐
Details
RSVP opens 2 weeks before at 9am
Join us for a walk from Falmer station to Ditchling Beacon, through Stanmer Park. Great scenery and a lovely place to walk.
If you have Komoot then this is the link to the walk here
We will start at 13:15 from Falmer Station, if you are running late please let James know.
Trail: 7.7 miles/12.4 Km should take approx. 3-3.5 hours. The trail is a mix of flats and hills, but all in all it is a pretty easy route. We will stop once or twice and make sure we take time to enjoy the scenery.
What to bring: Snacks & Lunch if you want to (vegan only please), drinks (water not vodka), and a waterproof (because this is the UK). This trail might have some muddy sections, but walking boots are not a necessity... your brand new vans will get dirty though, so wear shoes you don't mind getting a bit messed up.
Getting there:
Train ๐ 12:56 from Brighton is direct and gets to Falmer at 13:05. Cost is ยฃ4.50 return without a railcard.
Bus ๐ 3X, 5B, 23, 25, 28, 29 all stop nearby. For the 25 get off at Stanmer Park. For the rest get off at Falmer Station stop. You will have to then walk for a couple of minutes to get to the station.
Car ๐ there is a car park just inside Stanmer Park. Cost looks to be ยฃ3.10 for 4 hours. If you have space and don't mind giving a lift please say in the comments. You will have to then walk for a couple of minutes to get to the station.
Weather ๐ง This is the UK. The weather is at best unpredictable so we will check the day before and post whether this can go ahead. Light rain will not stop us and even if it looks sunny, bring a waterproof.
Any questions contact James via meetup.
All attendees will be expected to adhere to our code of conduct, which can be found here.
