Volunteer Day at Lotus Lamb and Animal Sanctuary
Details
RSVP will open two weeks before the event, 6th June
🚨 Extremely wholesome meetup alert 🚨
This one’s a good'un – meet lots of adorable pigs, turkeys, chickens, horses, a donkey and a cat at Lotus Lamb and Animal Sanctuary!
Lotus is in the process of moving sites so lots needs to be done. We'll be either shovelling and wheelbarrowing 💪 or taking down fences 🛠but don’t worry, no specialist knowledge or super strength required, we'll be in it together.
Of course, saying hi to the animals will be a lovely part of the day, but be ready to also do some hard, satisfying manual labour! Bring gloves and clothing you don’t mind getting muddy, plus hardy shoes or wellies. There is no drinking water or cafe on site so bring plenty of water/drinks and snacks/lunch (vegan only). Bring suncream, protective hats and a raincoat as well, depending on the weather!
There are compost toilets but please be aware these are just very basic outdoor loos (think festival toilets!).
If coming by public transport:
Meet at Brighton Station at 9.45. We’ll be getting the 9.58 train to Worthing and then the 23 bus to Ashington, and coming back the same route (takes about an hour each way). Comment on this post if you’re coming via public transport and we’ll meet by the piano in Brighton station – please be on time, we will need to get on the specified train with or without you!
If driving:
Park at Ashington Parish Church and meet us there at 11.10, then we can walk in together (the Sanctuary is a bit hidden!) If you’re driving and can offer lifts from Brighton/nearby, please comment on the post and we can try and organise a car pool if you’re willing!
