Vegan Arts & Crafts at The Earth and Stars pub ✨🪡🎨✏️

RSVP opens Thursday 17th September at 10am

✏️🪡🎨This is an event were we can get together and each do our own creative projects. It's up to you to bring your own art supplies, we are just making a space to be creative and enjoy each others company ☺️ you can bring whatever you want, as long as it's vegan friendly, is easy to clean up & doesn't affects other attendees/the staff such as anything that creates fumes or dust.

🌺 ☀️ 🍄 We could think of a theme in the comments if people would like some inspiration, but it would be totally optional whether or not you want to follow it.

💚As you know this is a vegan event, everyone is welcome but please don't bring along any non vegan materials or snacks in respect of us and all animals. Thank you.💚

🍴😋 The pub is fully vegan, I have been before for a roast and it was delicious! But I haven't tried their weekday menu yet. The kitchen closes at 9pm, last orders at the bar are at 10:30pm and we need to leave & each clean any mess that you've created up by 11pm. Though the event officially ends at 10pm some of us may want to stay longer 😊

📝Some examples of animal derived materials used in arts and crafts are, wool, leather, shellac, beeswax, animal hair brushes

Here is a list of some more surprising animal-derived art supplies:
Paints and Inks:
Honey and ox gall (cow bile) in some watercolor paints.
Bone black (charred animal bones) in black pigments.
Carmine or cochineal (crushed insects) for red pigments.
Sepia (cuttlefish ink) as a pigment.
Shellac (lac insect secretion) in some varnishes and Indian inks.
Paper and Surfaces:
Gelatin and rabbit skin glue (from animal bones/hides) for sizing paper and canvases.
Pastels and Pencils:
Beeswax in some crayons, oil pastels, and pencils.
