Welcome to Brighton and Sussex Social Activities and Social Club!
Make new friends with Brighton's best activities and social club. Most of our members are in the 50+ age bracket but we welcome people of any age. We have a huge range of events from walks to cocktails, theatre trips to treasure trails and everything in between. Every week, there's something on. Our members are encouraged to put on events for the club and think outside the box.
We are a not-for-profit group run by our members. The club is also part of a nationwide organisation of about 40 similar groups, and we join in with them at their events.
How do I join?
We have a two-stage process.
Firstly you join as a trial member, for no charge. To do this, click ‘request to join’ on our Meetup page. We ask you to put a recognisable photo of yourself on your profile, and we also ask you to verify your identity by sending an email to meetup@brightonsussexsocial.org.uk.
You will then be accepted onto our Meetup so you can see details of all our events.
As a trial member, you will be able to attend most events. Please click ‘attend’ on the event in question, and also contact the host directly. If you have not attended any event within three months, your trial membership and access to our Meetup will be terminated.
The second stage is full membership, which costs £10. After you have attended a couple of events as a trial member and decided you like our club, we invite you to join fully. You will be given a membership form and asked to submit your payment.
To be a member of our meet up group, you agree to abide by our code of conduct- namely we have zero tolerance for any discrimination and we treat each other with respect. Our event organisers are volunteers and their efforts should always be appreciated. Club members and meetup members who breach the code of conduct will be asked to leave. Please be aware that two no shows without updating your RSVP will result in being removed from the group.
Meetup only member attend all events at their own risk and the club accept no liability for any loss or injury resulting from such attendance.
