Brighton Jungian Psychology Meetup

Come along and meet interesting and likeminded folk in a lovely pub in Brighton. We have the upstairs function room reserved for our group.

Anyone with an interest in Carl Jung and his work is welcome to come along and chat with likeminded people. No specific knowledge or expertise required. In the past we have had a diverse mix of therapists, psychologists, coaches, general enthusiasts, curious beginners and more.

The topic for this session is Shadow, with specific reference to the archetypal character of the Devil. In understanding how darker aspects of human nature have been projected and personified throughout history, we will explore some quotes from Jung and others. It's nearly time for Halloween, so a perfect time to explore this topic.

Our group organiser Richard will provide some relevant quotes from Jung and questions to inspire our conversations in small groups, with opportunities to move around and meet different people.

The main meetup lasts for about 2 hours or so, but many people stay around later to drink and socialise further.

The topic for this session is Jung and Freud. One of the most fascinating relationships which ultimately went sour and saw two famous thinkers diverge with their own models and ideas. We will look at some of the differences that underpinned Jung's split from Sigmund Freud.

The topic for this session is Jung and Physics. There were many discussions between Jung and physicists of his day, notably Einstein and Pauli. Whether looking at the energy and dynamics of the psyche, or the curious phenomenon of synchronicity, Jung often drew parallels between physics and psychology, seeking to integrate the two.
