What weโre about
Connect, Learn, Collaborate - We are a community of people who share an interest in software development in the Microsoft space.
This includes (but is not limited to) the .NET platform, and encompasses not only Microsoft products and techniques, but also open source and other alternatives.

PostgreSQL & Marten โ The Swiss Army Knife of Database Development โ Damian Maclennan (~1h)
The default data storage for .NET development has always been SQL Server, but Postgres is a great alternative. Itโs open source, โfreeโ (and much cheaper in a PaaS scenario), and fast. It also works great with Entity Framework so can be an almost drop-in replacement for your RDBMS needs.
Add the Marten .NET library and you have an incredibly fast and efficient document database which can absolutely turbocharge your development experience.
This talk will be a technical walkthrough of Marten, how it works, how to use it in your .NET apps, and how to mix and match Martenโs document storage with Postgresโs other features to have a full database toolkit. Weโll also cover some real world gotchas, patterns, and pitfalls learned from production deployments.
