SYNOPSIS - A gripping true story of humanity and heroism, "HOTEL MUMBAI" vividly recounts the 2008 siege of the famed Taj Hotel by a group of terrorists in Mumbai, India. Among the dedicated hotel staff is the renowned chef Hemant Oberoi (Anupam Kher) and a waiter (Academy Award-Nominee Dev Patel, "Slumdog Millionaire") who choose to risk their lives to protect their guests. As the world watches on, a desperate couple (Armie Hammer, "Call Me By Your Name" and Nazanin Boniadi, "Homeland") is forced to make unthinkable sacrifices to protect their newborn child.

DATE/TIME - WEDNESDAY, 20th MARCH 2018 @ 6:15pm (for 6:30pm session)
VENUE - CINEPLEX SOUTH BANK (https://www.cineplex.com.au/Cinemas/Southbank)
MOVIE MEETING TIME & LOCATION - 6:15pm (for 6:30pm session) in the cinema's upstairs coffee lounge. Movie is screening in Cinema 1.
DINNER/DRINKS BEFOREHAND - Join us for dinner and/or drinks at "Grill'd" between 5:15pm and 6:15pm. "Grill'd" is only a few doors down from the cinema.
TICKETS - It can often be busy at the box office, so it's recommended that you buy your ticket online in advance to collect from the automated ticket dispenser in the cinema foyer.
DRINKS & DESSERT AFTERWARDS - Join us for drinks & dessert after the movie at "The Brooklyn Depot". We'll regroup in the cinema's upstairs coffee lounge and make our way from there. "The Brooklyn Depot" is just across the street from the cinema.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT - Public transport to the cinema is very convenient. Translink website: https://translink.com.au/
CAR PARKING OPTIONS - There are two options available. Weblink for full details: https://www.cineplex.com.au/Cinemas/Southbank
(OPTION 1)
The cinema's underground carpark can be very busy in peak periods, so allow extra time if using this option. If the carpark is full the machine will only allow you in when a car leaves the carpark. This can mean a significant wait before gaining access. Parking is free for cinema patrons up to 4 hours, and is accessible via Ernest St, close to the Grey St intersection. Remember to have your parking ticket validated at the box office when you leave the cinema.
IMPORTANT! - Be careful not to exceed the 4-hour parking limit, as a hefty $35 penalty applies!
(OPTION 2)
Cineplex has an arrangement with 'Secure Parking' to provide a more flexible car parking option than the one above. It's just a short walk from the cinemas, opposite the Convention Centre. There is usually ample parking available. Entrances are on both Cordelia St and Merivale St. On weekdays if you park after 4:00pm, or anytime on weekends & public holidays, you'll receive parking for a flat rate of $6. Remember to have your parking ticket validated at the box office when you leave the cinema, to ensure that you receive the discount.
COIN CONTRIBUTION - Meetup.com has increased each group's annual membership fee to more than $225 per year. To help offset this cost, which is borne by the Group Organizer, it would be sincerely appreciated if attendees could contribute a gold coin at the event. Please give your coin to the Event Host. Thanks so much!
