Nimbus is Back! The 2026 Relaunch (Damian Maclennan)
Details
Nimbus is an open-source .NET message bus library that's now over 13 years old. While the project hasn't had much public activity for a while, it's actually been quietly powering event-driven, distributed systems in production for years and processing millions and millions of transactions.
In this talk, we'll look the origins of the project. Why it was built, the problems it set out to solve, and how it has evolved.
Asynchronous messaging is at the core of what Nimbus does, and we'll explore why it's such a compelling pattern for modern distributed systems, and some of the scenarios and capabilities it has unlocked in real world systems.
We'll also cover what's new in the 2026 relaunch, including a live demo, and finish up with how you can start using it.
