Social and Discussion Afternoon
The Catchment Brewing Co is near the corner of Boundary Street and Vulture Street West End. We encourage you to have lunch or make the most of some of the great craft beers available to support the venue that supports us. The Social is between 1:00pm and 4pm. At 2pm we have some formal welcome/introductions and usually a discussion topic. 2pm Topic: To Be Confirmed, suggestions for future topics welcome. If we remember, we will ask for a gold coin donation to cover basic costs Event Notes: This is a suitable event for new members of BPP, and existing members may bring poly or poly-friendly guests. The room has a wheelchair-accessible stair lift and toilets. Conversations can be assumed to be adult level and specifically themed to polyamory, so attendance of youngsters should only be at considered parent discretion. The purpose of these events is to socialise and have a chat as a community. While friendships and relationships do occur between like-minded people, this is not a "hook up" space and not everyone that attends is looking for a partner. Please don't take photos at the social and protect attendees' privacy after you leave the gathering. We aim to be a welcoming an inclusive space for a diverse range of polyamorous, poly-curious and poly-friendly people. The 199 bus stops outside the venue and South Brisbane Train Station is a 1 km walk. There is some car parking on nearby streets or you can access paid parking at for $5 pre-booked on weekends. https://www.secureparking.com.au/en-au/car-parks/australia/queensland/brisbane/brisbane-south/the-markets-west-end-car-park

What we're about

A social and discussion group based in Brisbane for all who are interested in open relationships, polyamory, and the varied alternatives to monogamy. We believe that we are able to run our relationships with honesty and integrity. We meet monthly for a lively and safe social afternoon, often with a theme presentation. Sometimes we put on a movie night, or a growth workshop, or a dinner/discussion. We commonly have folk from the Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

Brisbane Poly People is first and foremost a social and mutual support group – not a site devoted to casual dating or intimate encounters. While you may find those kinds of connections here, just as you might anywhere else, they are not necessarily specific goals for many of our members. If these activities are the main reason you are interested in our group, you may also like to consider other sites. For poly-friendly dating, many BPP members recommend OkCupid (http://www.okcupid.com/).

Our group is open to the public, so when joining our group, you are welcome to choose a pseudonym (on this site and/or in person at events) to protect your privacy. Using a different email address on meetup profile from your normal email may also avoid accidental cross-referencing of your meetup info onto other social media like facebook. You may set some further privacy by choosing Hide my list of meetup groups on my profile on your Profile page. When choosing an image, please don't post a pic of someone else, or of an explicit nature, as it is inappropriate here and breaches meetup's terms.

We welcome anyone who is poly, poly curious, or poly friendly, regardless of their current or preferred relationship status.
