The Brisbane Theosophical Society, located in Spring Hill since 1925, belongs to a great international spiritual community that commenced officially in 1875.
😊 The public is welcome to our weekly lectures held every Wednesday evening at 7:30pm covering topics ranging from philosophy, comparative religion, science in spirituality, and self-realisation.
😊 Workshops and book reading clubs are also held in our main auditorium on all topics supporting self-development and higher consciousness. Meditation groups, tarot practice and women's circles are held in our upstairs venue. In our basement studio, you can participate in inspired art workshops.
😊 At events, we often ask participants to bring healthy food to share to help keep costs at a minimum. Many of our events and workshops are free or incur a minimal fee to cover materials and labour costs.

This lecture explores the life and thought of Shihābuddīn Yaḥyā Suhrawardī (d. 1191), the “martyr of Aleppo,” who created a unique theosophical system blending Sufism, Neoplatonism, Hermeticism, and Zoroastrianism. It will highlight his Theosophy of Illumination—which identifies Light (nūr) as the essence of existence—along with readings from his theurgic prayers and reflections on his place in esoteric history.🔹 WHO IS WAHID?🔹
Born in Iran (1971) and raised in Germany, the United States and Australia, Wahid is multilingual and was educated at the University of New Mexico(BAS,1994), the University of California at Los Angeles (MAs,1997) and the Queensland University of Technology (LLB). His speciality is Islamic esoteric, mystical and occult texts. He is also the founder and present head of the Fatimiya Sufi Order.Tea, Coffee and Conversation to follow!

Phillipa has been a dedicated member of the Brisbane Theosophical Society for 30 years.
