Cider Circle is Bristol Cider Club's monthly cider tasting meetup, hosted every second Wednesday of the month. In June, we welcome Ross-on-Wye Cider & Perry Co…
Nestled in the heart of Herefordshire's rolling countryside lies Broome Farm, the now cherished home of Ross-on-Wye Cider & Perry Company. Since the 1930s, the Johnson family has been cultivating and fermenting apples and pears here, embracing a cider making tradition that celebrates place and purity.
Ross-on-Wye specialise in small-batch single-variety and blended ciders and perries, often offering over sixty distinct drinks at any given time. They approach production with a love of simplicity and a respect for natural process, using whole juice and fermenting naturally. Without fail, this method highlights the distinctive characteristics of Herefordshire's soil and climate, resulting in ciders and perries that are authentic and expressive.
"They just love showcasing how different all of these drinks can be through the use of different varieties, or the use of ex-spirit casks. It’s the demonstration that there’s a massive range of flavour profiles out there, and that cider isn’t just that one thing."

What to expect
Cider Circle is a friendly, informal group cider tasting hosted by a different producer each month. We're passionate evangelists of quality, artisan cider. And we want everyone to try it first hand, straight from the maker. We meet at Small Bar, tucked away up in the pub's spacious but cosy loft. Everyone is welcome, whether you're a cider & perry nerd, or totally new to these drinks.
