Welcome to 2026 foraging sessions, to members new and old!

This is our first session of the year, so we want to welcome new members, all who have wanted to join but haven't had the chance to, as well as our valued regulars too, come along!

We'll meet at St Anne's House and stroll through St Anne's Woods, maybe even make our way through to Nightingale Valley if we have time, to see the new life emerging from the ground and trees.

Our aim is to have these sessions open to all, whether you have been before or not, whether you have any experience or not! This is a community for people who want to meet outside in nature, make new friends and learn new things about plants, fungi and animals.

What to expect:
>> 2pm - 3.30pm - meet at St Anne's House, BS4 4AB (free parking at this amazing community centre) to have a stroll around St Anne's Woods, BS4 4BW. We will see the new sprigs of green, flashes of bright colours and active birdlife. We'll have lots of opportunity to chat, ask questions, share knowledge, recipes and experiences.
>> 3.30pm - 5pm - group feast at St Annes House, BS4 4AB (BYO shared dish, we will have access to toilets/ water/ chairs etc.)

What to bring:
For the stroll through St Anne's Woods
- everything you'd need for a comfortable time outside like water, a notepad, comfy clothes and sturdy shoes
- tupperware if you'd like to take home any plants we find
For the shared meal at St Anne's House
- one portion of something delicious, this will mean enough for everyone when shared. If you're unable to bring some food, you are still very welcome, we will have enough for you!

Travel: the postcode for the meeting point outside St Anne's House is BS4 4AB. The number 5 bus travels there from Lawrence Hill Roundabout. We will start and end the walk here, and share our lunch here in the cafe area.

Accessibility:
St Anne's Woods (outside) - the paths are a mix of gravel and dirt, with some steeper sections, not fully suitable for all wheelchair users due to the steep, natural terrain. Let us know if you need any additional needs and we can adjust our route accordingly.
St Anne's House (inside) - wheelchair-accessible facilities, including 4 designated parking spaces near the entrance, ramp access and automatic doors. More info here.

Safety and community care: to keep everyone safe, please do not attend if you are actively infectious with a cold, cough or other illness. Bristol Foraging Group is a neurodivergent, trans-inclusive, LGBTQIA+ friendly space in nature, all are welcome.

Payment for these sessions goes towards ensuring they can continue at low cost, but if you aren't able to cover this, we have bursary spaces available for you, no questions asked! Let us know (email maria@healingweeds.co.uk) and say you'd like to join!

Refunds: Swaps preferred over refunds - if you can't make it on the day, you're welcome to exchange your space for another date you can attend in future, just get in touch to swap over.
