Welcome to 2026 foraging sessions, to members new and old!
You do not need any previous knowledge to join these sessions, everyone is welcome to join and learn from others.
What to expect, what to bring, travel and accessibility information is below.
This is our third session of the year, as always we will welcome new members, all who have wanted to join but haven't had the chance to, as well as our valued regulars too, come along!
We'll meet at the entrance to Nightingale Valley, at 8-3 St Anne's Terrace, Bristol BS4 4DY and stroll through the woodlands to see the new life emerging from the ground and in the trees.
What to expect:
>> 12pm - 1.30pm - meet at 8-3 St Anne's Terrace, Bristol BS4 4DY - (free parking around residential roads) to have a stroll around Nightingale Valley. We will see the new ground cover, some amazing trees and hopefully some birdlife. We'll have lots of opportunity to chat, ask questions, share knowledge, recipes and experiences.
>> 1.30pm - 3pm - group lunch at St Annes House, BS4 4AB (a 13min walk away, please BYO shared dish, we will have access to toilets/ water/ chairs etc)
*Our lunch location is a 13min walk from our walk finish point (map link walk from St Anne's Terrace to St. Annes House)
What to bring:
For the stroll through Nightingale Valley
- everything you'd need for a comfortable time outside like water, a notepad, comfy clothes and sturdy shoes
- tupperware if you'd like to take home any plants we find
For the shared meal at St Anne's House
- one portion of something delicious, this will mean enough for everyone when shared. If you're unable to bring some food, you are still very welcome, we will have enough for you!
Travel: the postcode for the meeting point outside no.3 St Anne's Terrace, BS4 4DY. The number X39, 349, 522 and 36 bus stop nearby. We will start and end the walk at St Anne's Terrace, and share our lunch a 13min walk away at St Anne's House.
Parking: there is parking at St. Anne's House which is free! As well as on residential roads surrounding Nightingale Valley.
Accessibility:
- Nightingale Valley (outside) - the paths are a mix of gravel and dirt, with some rockier sections, suitable for most wheelchairs. Let us know if you have any additional needs and we can adjust the route easily.
- St Anne's House (inside) - wheelchair-accessible facilities, including 4 designated parking spaces near the entrance, ramp access and automatic doors. More info here.
Safety and community care: to keep everyone safe, please do not attend if you are actively infectious with a cold, cough or other illness. Bristol Foraging Group is a neurodivergent, trans-inclusive, LGBTQIA+ friendly space in nature, all are welcome.
Payment for these sessions goes towards ensuring they can continue at low cost, but if you aren't able to cover this, we have bursary spaces available for you, no questions asked! Let us know (email maria@healingweeds.co.uk) and say you'd like to join!
Refunds: Swaps preferred over refunds - if you can't make it on the day, you're welcome to exchange your space for another date you can attend in future, just get in touch to swap over.
