Intro:
As we head into a holiday weekend, let's get together for a ride out to the beaches. Yes, NYC does have beaches which is hard to believe.

Meeting:
We will meet at the Brompton Junction at 12pm and head out towards Rockaway Beach. 12:30 will be a strict wheels up due to the distance and later start to accommodate everyone Saturday evenings. LOL

The Ride:
This ride will be considered advanced by Brompton Community rules as it will surpass 25 miles, and have some elevation along the way. Although we are not racing, there will be a steady pace. Riders who attend should be able to average 12mph on flats without obstruction.
Approx distance : 31 miles total. 17 miles to Coney Island and 14 more to Rockaway Beach.

This ride will have Pits Stops along the way
Pit Stop 1-Grand Army Plaza Prospect Park-10 minutes
Pit Stop 2-Coney Island Nathans Hotdogs, snacks, beverages, etc.
Pit Stop 3-Jacob Riis Beach
Pit Stop 4-Tacoaway Beach Rockaway Beach

The ride will end in Rockaway Beach where will board the NYC Ferry on B108th Street to take the Ferry back to Walls Street Pier 11. Pending on the course of the day, we will hit the following ferry schedules
Departing 6:12, 6:48, 7:24, 8:00pm. The ferry duration is 52-55 minutes.

The Venue
Dinner will be at Takeaway Beach, arguably have the best fish tacos in all of NYC area. They are famous for it! In addition, this surf shack that serves delicious Mexican fare, also has a bar with margaritas over the rocks and frozen, cerveza, etc. If alcohol is not your thing, they have amazing fresh watermelon juice. An outdoor relaxed atmosphere.

Safety: Please ensure your Brommie is in good working condition, tyres inflated, helmets, etc. Bring lights in case the party continues to be on the safe side.

I further agree and warrant that if, at any time, I believe conditions to be unsafe, I will immediately discontinue further participation.
2. I FULLY UNDERSTAND that (a) BICYCLING ACTIVITIES INVOLVE RISKS AND DANGERS OF SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, INCLUDING PERMANENT DISABILITY, PARALYSIS AND DEATH ("Risks"); (b) these Risks and dangers may be caused by my own actions or inactions, the actions or inactions of others participating in the ride-out, the conditions in which the ride-out takes place, or the negligence of others; (c) there may be OTHER RISKS AND SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC LOSSES either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time; and I FULLY ACCEPT AND ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSSES, COSTS, AND DAMAGES I may incur as a result of my participation; (d) I acknowledge that Brompton Bicycle, event organizers, ride leaders, and volunteers will not be liable for any accidents or damages through this ride-out.
3. PHOTO RELEASE: I CONSENT to my voice, name, and/or likeness being used, without compensation, in any and all media, whether now known or hereafter devised, for eternity, and release Brompton Bicycle, its successors, assigns and licensees from any liability whatsoever of any nature.
