Around the World - Queens Night Market

Details

This will be a short, easy pace, beginner friendly ride of approximately 10 miles.

Wish you could eat Ecuadorian, Turkish, Sudanese, Taiwanese food (and more!) all in the same night? Well, wish no more! Welcome to the Queens Night Market! This food vendor market is held every week in the summer on Saturday from 4pm to midnight at Flushing Meadows park in Queens, and celebrates the cultural diversity of NYC and Queens.

About Queens Night Market:
NOTE - Most vendors primarily accept CASH ONLY. Food items are typically around $6 per item. Some vendors do accept electronic payment, but not all. More information here: https://queensnightmarket.com/

We will begin our ride at Queensbridge Park. The park is located on Vernon Blvd, right under the Queensboro Bridge. Meet at 2pm. Wheels rolling at 2:30 pm. There are restrooms and water fountains at the start. From there we will ride up Vernon Blvd, taking advantage of the closed street for Summer Streets, where Vernon Blvd will be closed to car traffic until 3pm! Arrive early if you want to explore the summer streets on your own. We will ride the open street, but will not be stopping along the way. At the top of Vernon we will check out the view from Hallets Point with a quick stop for pictures and water. After this we will make our way down to 31st Avenue and ride on one of the widest protected bike lanes in NYC! From here we'll make our way to 34th Ave, one of the longest stretches of road in NYC that is permanently closed to traffic - stretching 26 blocks! From here we'll finally make our way to Flushing Meadows park where we'll see the Unisphere and the Fountain of the Planets. At this point, we're just seconds away from the final destination, Queens Night Market!

Here is the route: (ROUTE WILL BE POSTED SOON)
