Ride 99-CT Pizza Party Social

Intro:
Welcome to Ride #99 as your ride leader. Some of you have asked and we are responding with a Pizza Ride in New Haven CT, the Pizza Capital of the USA. This will create the beginnings of a Pizza War and we are prepared for it. Standby later in the year for part 2 which will be a pizza ride in NYC. We are passionate about Brompton's as we are also for Pizza. This

Meeting:
We will meet at the Info Counter at Grand Central Station at 08-30 to begin rounding up folks. The train will depart promptly at 09:02am and arrive at New Haven CT Union Station at 11;17am. Please be on time as we will NOT wait for anyone. You will be responsible for catching up.
Highly recommended to download the MYA app and purchase your tickets in advance on Metro-North. Cost is $19.75 each way.

The Ride:
The last couple of rides I organized have been more on the moderate to advanced levels. This ride is something that both veterans and newbies can enjoy. This will be a sightseeing tour by bike in and around the New Haven area. This will include riding through Yale University Campus, along Long Wharf where all the famous Mexican food trucks are parked, and all the way along the shore over to the lighthouse. This will include passing around New Haven Tweed International Airport. This ride will be primarily on cycleways and bike lanes. If you're new to the world of Brompton, you may enjoy this out of town experience.

The Venue
Our hosts in New Haven will be the Devils Gear Bike Shop. They are premium bike shop which also is a Brompton dealer for the state of CT. Some of you have attended our past collaborations with Devils Gear such as Pepes Pizza ride and the infamous 2024 Cinco de Mayo Taco Ride with full Mariachi band!

The Pizza War:
We will be supplied with Pizza courtesy of the big two, Pepes and Sallys of New Haven. The rivalry is strong and even residents are divided on who makes a better pizza. Some of you have already experienced Pepes from pats rides. Now here is your chance to enjoy both pizza powerhouses under one roof, thanks to our hosts at Devils Gear.

RSVP is strict and will cap at 30. We cannot exceed this number so if you RSVP it's a commitment. If you cannot attend, you MUST cancel your RSVP! No exceptions.

1. All bikes are welcome.
2. Helmets are required. Lights are required if riding in darkness.
3. No one gets left behind!

BY ATTENDING this event you ACKNOWLEDGE and ACCEPT the following:
1. I ACKNOWLEDGE, agree, and represent that I understand the nature of bicycling activities and that I am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such activity. I further acknowledge that the ride-out will be conducted over public pavements and facilities open to the public, and upon which the hazards of traveling are to be expected. I further agree and warrant that if, at any time, I believe conditions to be unsafe, I will immediately discontinue further participation.
2. I FULLY UNDERSTAND that (a) BICYCLING ACTIVITIES INVOLVE RISKS AND DANGERS OF SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, INCLUDING PERMANENT DISABILITY, PARALYSIS AND DEATH ("Risks"); (b) these Risks and dangers may be caused by my own actions or inactions, the actions or inactions of others participating in the ride-out, the conditions in which the ride-out takes place, or the negligence of others; (c) there may be OTHER RISKS AND SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC LOSSES either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time; and I FULLY ACCEPT AND ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSSES, COSTS, AND DAMAGES I may incur as a result of my participation; (d) I acknowledge that Brompton Bicycle, event organizers, ride leaders, and volunteers will not be liable for any accidents or damages through this ride-out.
3. PHOTO RELEASE: I CONSENT to my voice, name, and/or likeness being used, without compensation, in any and all media, whether now known or hereafter devised, for eternity, and release Brompton Bicycle, its successors, assigns and licensees from any liability whatsoever of any nature.
