Brompton Meeting Point for the Five Boro Bike Tour
Details
The 5 Boro Bike Tour is on Sunday! Our team, 'Brompton Mafia', has traditionally had 70+ Brompton riders joining the 30,000+ attendees from around the world! Rumor has it we're the largest team at the event. How about that? 🤠
We are in Wave 3
We will meet at City Hall (corner at Broadway and Chambers St.) https://maps.app.goo.gl/bp6FnA3ucr2bR9gu8 between 7:45am and 8:00am. We will have a group chat, take some photos, and then roll down to the start area together promptly at 8:15am. We will enter the start area on Maiden/Cortlandt Street from the East side. Bring a jacket, it is going to be chilly waiting until the 915am start!
Sunday Ride: Route Map and Re-group Points: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/46201492
We will have two optional re-group points on the ride this year. If you would like to join other Brompton riders either ahead or behind you, you can stop at these two points and look for others. There will be different groups at different paces, so you are welcome to take off when you feel good to go.
1: Top of Central Park. Quick stop to get most of the riders together after the chaos at the start. We will meet up either just inside the park, or across the street on Malcolm X Blvd.
2: Queensbridge Park. Skip the long lines and the crowds at the Astoria Park stop. Bypass the Astoria Park stop by turning to the right before the entrance and going around the park on Ditmars Blvd. Grab some lunch or some snacks along this section, and bring it to the regroup point in Queensbridge Park. We will meet along the Greenway and just down from the bathrooms(!), rest and eat before we carry on: https://maps.app.goo.gl/xj6jQftDhcraZLY27
Sunday Ferry after the ride: The NYC Fast Ferry takes an unlimited number of folding bikes on board, so there is no ferry line or wait for Brompton riders! *Do not* enter the regular ferry line at the Staten Island Ferry terminal. We will be taking the NYC Ferry instead from St George To Battery Park City: https://www.ferry.nyc/routes-and-schedules/st-george/ To get there, ride past the end of Bay Street outside the barriers, past the main ferry and bus terminals, then down Richmond Turn past the outlet mall, and turn right down Wall St to the NYC Ferry terminal: https://maps.app.goo.gl/8ZGKcqM97BitPGVR9
Before we catch the ferry, we are planning to meet up at a brewery or pub to wait for more riders to finish. We can discuss this more during the Saturday Pizza Party, and stay tuned to the group chat to find out where everyone ends up! https://chat.whatsapp.com/IQ8KoUcsch30wByrYvwjmt
Sunday Night: And finally, last but certainly not least, the World Famous Brompton After Party hosted by Dana and Oliver! We'll out the info on Friday.
Note that the Five Boro Bike Tour is a BikeNYC event and not hosted by Brompton. You must have a paid registration with BikeNYC to ride this event, which is a meetup for Brompton riders and friends of Brompton riders joining the larger event.
