International Foodie Series Queens-Ukrainian Pierogis
Details
Intro: Hello Bromptoneers! We will bring back the international foodie series rides which are shorter social rides that are between 10-20 miles that focus on a specific cuisine. For those who are new to BromptonNYC group rides, this is a great intro. This ride is also one that veterans can enjoy. This ride will mark #101 as a ride leader as I move towards the next 100. The cuisines of choice for this ride will be a Ukrainian bakery.
Meetup: We will meet at Forest Hills LIRR Station on 71st Continental Ave between Austin St and Burns St. Transport is also available via the subway which is couple blocks away. The quickest way to Forest Hills coming from the City is to take the LIRR from Penn Station which departs at 9:25am and arrives at 9:40am. E and F trains have services. Check MTA for service updates. If you're taking LIRR from Grand Central the train departs at 9:54am and arrives at 10:09am. Keep in mind that you must be in the first 4 cars in order to exit at Forest Hills. This ride will have a strict wheels up of 10:30am.
The Route: This ride will be considered moderate ride at the entry level that beginners can enjoy. This ride encompasses a more suburban feel with plenty of greenway space and bike lanes. There is some light elevation as we pass through Forest Park. The ride will start and end at Forest Hills Station which can put back time into your Saturday. This ride will be short but sweet.
Distance: Approx. 10 miles
