Bronx Caregivers for the Intellectually Disabled Meetup

This group (which also welcomes people in southern Westchester County) seeks to find friends for the intellectually disabled people in our care. Partly because they cannot read or cannot manage social media, they can be lonely and need connection with each other. We hope that by connecting the family caregivers we can also connect our loved ones who have intellectual disabilities with each other. We envision meeting in parks or malls or bowling alleys, etc. to begin with -- places where people naturally get to know one another, accompanied by their caregivers. This group is open to those of all ages with intellectual disabilities, including seniors. Perhaps friendships will occur!
