The Lynwood Beginner Pickleball Lessons are for players who have never played right up to players with less than 10 matches of experience. There are 6 different lesson plans, come to them all or drop in to the lesson of your choice.
Lessons are split into 2 sections: ~60 minutes of technique ~30 minutes of match play. Don't worry about the match play if you're new, this is primarily to teach you the rules and where to stand at the beginning of points. If you are a more experienced beginner or already hit the ball well, I ask you to play nice to ensure the less confident students have a positive & stress free experience (aka don't slam the ball at the true beginners please!!)
Lesson plan 1: serves (how to start points)
Lesson plan 2: volleys (hitting the ball out of the air/before it bounces)
Lesson plan 3: forehand ground stroke (hitting the ball on your dominant side after it bounces)
Lesson plan 4: backhand groundstrokes (hitting the ball after it bounces on your non dominant side)
Lesson plan 5: 3rd shot drop (technique and tactic you need to master to become a strong player)
Lesson plan 6: coach assisted match play (must be able to serve 7/10 in to participate in this lesson)
What to bring: comfy loose clothes that don't restrict movement, low profile shoes if you have them (or if you're wearing something like a Hoka, take it easy! Those are not designed for side to side movement so take care not to roll your ankle).
If you are interested please rsvp using the link provided. Also if you chose not to come PLEASE unregister so someone can take your place. Spaces are limited to 10.
Sign in at the gym floor entrance before entering the pickleball courts.
