What we’re about
September is the international month dedicated to awareness of pain conditions and improvement of resources for people living with chronic pain.
For many people, living with pain is a way of life. Living a full and active life however may seem impossible. It is actually possible to increase your level of functioning and quality life while reducing your sense of suffering. The key, like anything in life, is to have the right skills, support, and direction. That is a tall order in the health care arena these days. Brooklyn Dream Team is here to lend a helping hand with information, conversation and assistance from speakers in this field.
This is a group for anyone especially baby boomers interested in addressing the issues of pain in their joints example neck, shoulder, back, waist, hip, legs, knees, feet and under the feet, etc. people with slips, fall accidents or just plain arthritis. All skills levels are welcome especially massage therapist. I started this group because I had an accident and had to deal with my pains and would like to share this with other people. Looking forward to meet with new people with these types of problems to share.
There are so much that can be done to improve our daily functions such as diet, exercise and some simple things found in the home such as ginger, coconut oil, Epsom salts and pepper just to name a few.
Our first meeting will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church Basement, 230 Classon Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11205 to bring in international month awareness of pain.
