Blues dancing is a family of historical Black American dance styles rooted in the African American experience, music, and social culture. Originally danced in juke joints and house parties to traditional blues, it emphasizes grounded movement, rhythmic play, and deep connection between partners. Today, it’s danced to everything from classic acoustic blues to the electrified blues-rock and soul many of us grew up with. The experience is social, low impact, easy to pick up, and a whole lotta fun.
