The BrownGurl Social

The BrownGurl Social is a gathering of like-minded women from all racial backgrounds who are interested in meeting up from time-to-time to relax, unwind and laugh!

Some of our past events/gatherings have included ladies' brunch, after-work happy hour/mixers, Sip n' Paints, bowling, hiking, dance classes and international travel! (Which we plan to do a lot more of…)

Basically, the underlying theme of this group is 'acceptance' -- encouraging one another to be and feel beautiful in the skin they’re in! It doesn't matter if you're short, tall, big, small, round, square, black, Indian, latina, asian, blasian, biracial, tri-racial, multiracial, racial-racial or what have you! LOL (I'm being facetious now.... :-) Fact is....BrownGurls ARE beautiful -- in all shapes, shades and sizes!

And last, but definitely not least, the (1) Golden Rule of this group is as follows:

DON'T RSVP IF YOU DON'T PLAN TO ATTEND!!!

If you RSVP for a meetup, you MUST CONFIRM & PAY (if it is a paid MeetUp) by the CONFIRMATION DATE to let me know whether or not you will attend. It is inconsiderate to have me show up at a meetup location and no one is there. Also, it's not fair to other members who may have wanted to attend, but could not because the event was full. That person could have come in your place.

We all understand that sometimes things come up, in which case it is imperative that you change your status from "Going" to "Not Going" as soon as possible, once you've made the decision not to attend.
