De Panne to Bray-Dunes coast and dunes

No plans yet for tomorrow? Here is a last-minute offer for a coastal hike.
We will start in De Panne and hike through the dunes and along the coast to Bray-Dunes (FR) and back. When back, there might be some time left for a drink or ice cream!

As the number of participants is limited, it is important that you manage your registration responsibly: only sign up if you really intend to come. Since this is a last-minute offer, no cancellations are allowed.

We will try to keep close to an average speed of about 4.5 km/h. We will walk mainly on unpaved roads. I’ve not tested this track beforehand, so it’s possible that there are some mistakes in the planning (i.e. it may become longer ;-).

●●Meeting point:
We meet at 08h50 in Gare Central train station in front of Starbucks. Our train (EXP 18162 richting Gent-Sint-Pieters & De Panne) leaves from platform 2 at 09.07 and arrives in De Panne at 10,48. Since this is the summer period, the train might be crowded.

●● Train tickets:
Two lines on the rail pass is the cheapest option. Otherwise, a weekend ticket to De Panne would also work (€ 26,20).

●● Trains back to Brussels:
Trains back from De Panne every hour at XX.31.

●● Specifics:
Distance: 23 km
Elevation gain: up a dune or two
Hiking through mull sand for some part of the hike.
Net walking time: ~ 5,5 h
Weather forecast: dry, but a rain shower possible

In the unlikely case of too bad weather, we may cancel a hike, even few hours before the event. If this must happen, we will of course update the Meetup website and send out an email to those registered. So it is important to have access to either the Meetup.com website and/or your emails.
