Dijle Valley Hike Sint-Joris-Weert (22 km loop) - max 20 pers
Details
In this hike we explore the beautiful countryside of the Dijle Valley. Soon after the start we walk through the Grootbroek nature reserve and follow the Dijle, one of the most beautiful rivers of the Scheldt basin.
The hike takes us through three very different landscapes: wetlands, the rolling hills and farmland of the Brabant plateau and the vast Meerdaal Forest. Along the way we pass through small villages such as Pécrot and Bossut before returning to Flemish Brabant.
The final part of the hike takes us through the Meerdaal Forest with its impressive beech avenues and winding forest paths.
After our hike we continue our good habit of taking a nice beer/pancake/snack in a local pub in Sint-Joris-Weert before returning to Brussels.
Please don't forget to pay Maikel a drink :-)
We will walk at an average speed of 5km/h both on paved and unpaved roads. I’ve never walked this road before so it’s possible that there are some mistakes in the planning. Be prepared for this.
