What we're about

The Miami & Erie Canal - Buckeye Trail is the Meetup for those who live near or along the St. Mary's, Delphos and Defiance sections of the Buckeye Trail (http://buckeyetrail.org/) (North of Dayton to South of Toledo) along the historic Miami & Erie Canal Towpath and Maumee River. This segment passes through many historic canal towns from Piqua to Waterville, across the front lines of the War of 1812, and into the Great Black Swamp region. This meetup supports the Buckeye Trail and the Miami & Erie Canal Corridor Association (http://www.meccainc.org/) (MECCA) through hiking, backpacking, local history and volunteer events. Please RSVP for an upcoming gathering!

Oak Openings 10 Mile Hike

Oak Openings - Mallard Lake Area

Not the Buckeye Trail, but it will definitely be worth it! Maximum group for this hike is 15 total. YOU MUST CALL METROPARKS TOLEDO and register for this event. Phone: [masked]. Explore your trails with Metroparks naturalists. Fulfill your trail challenge this March! Join us for an epic 10-mile hike in beautiful Oak Openings, where we’ll traverse a variety of natural settings including sand dunes, prairies, forests, and oak savannahs as we search for the first signs of the coming spring! Along the way, we’ll stop for lunch, build a fire, and enjoy warm beverages to stay toasty! Pro-tip: pack a water and trail lunch, dress warmly for the weather, and wear sturdy hiking shoes. Minors must be accompanied by adults. Hike distance and speed is not appropriate for children under the age of 16.

Trail Fest 2019 - It is time to plan program and hike events

Webinar/Teleconference

This event will be occurring in our territory! At Camp Widewater in Texas, OH. Let's show the rest of Ohio what NW Ohio has to offer. Are you interested to participate in planning the presentations and hikes for Trailfest 2019? We are looking for volunteers! There are many different opportunities...…..the daytime programming, the pre-Trailfest events, the hikes, the evening programming. Let's get on a call and start organizing. We'll send out a conference call number as we get closer to December 13. For now, please note if you have particular areas of interest. Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you.
