Welcome to the Bucharest Hiking Club đ˛
This group is for anyone in Bucharest who loves the outdoors, fresh air, and good company.
Weâll organize:
Mountain hikes: mostly on marked trails near Bucharest, but away from the crowded tourist spots.
City walks: long strolls through parks, hidden corners, and neighborhoods that feel new when explored on foot.
You donât need to be super fit or experienced â just bring comfortable shoes, curiosity, and a friendly spirit. The focus is on enjoying the outdoors together and making new connections.

https://chat.whatsapp.com/FGUre1lPzrwLL6p7MlT3zj?mode=ems_wa_tJoin us for an easy, relaxed loop through BÄneasa Forest â about 7 km, essentially flat, a bit over two hours at a conversational pace. Ideal for meeting fellow hikers or testing some gear close to Bucharest.
After the hike you can head home for lunch, or stay for a picnic and an optional visit to BÄneasa Zoo. It's open 09:00â19:00 on Saturdays (last entry 18:00), 21 lei for adults and 11 lei for children, pupils and students, free for under-3s. Tickets at the gate or online at bilete.bucurestizoo.ro . Note that dogs aren't allowed inside the zoo.
Dogs and kids are welcome on the hike.
Getting there: Uber, Bolt, private car, or public transport â bus lines 301, 450 or 473 to the GrÄdina ZoologicÄ area.
Bring:- Water and optional snacks
- Comfortable hiking shoes
- Any hiking gear you'd like to test
- Sunscreen and mosquito repellent
- Long socks recommended â it's tick season, so give yourself a check when you get home
Weather: As of Wednesday, Saturday looks like around 20°C at the start and 23°C by noon, sun and some clouds, with showers more likely later in the afternoon. I'll post an update if that changes.
If it rains: We hike unless there's a storm warning. Check the WhatsApp channel by 09:00 on Saturday.
