This Saturday, we’re taking a relaxed walk through Cotroceni, one of Bucharest’s most elegant, peaceful, and character-filled neighborhoods.
Our group usually goes on hikes, but this time we’re changing the scenery a little and exploring the city on foot. Instead of forest trails and mountain paths, we’ll wander through quiet streets, beautiful old villas, hidden corners, and one of the most charming areas in Bucharest. Cotroceni has a special atmosphere: it feels calmer, greener, and somehow a little removed from the rush of the city, while still being full of history and life.
Often called Bucharest’s presidential neighborhood, Cotroceni is home to Cotroceni Palace and is known for its distinctive architecture, long history, and pleasant residential streets. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down, look around, and enjoy the walk rather than rush through it.
We’ll walk for around 1 to 1.5 hours at an easy, social pace, with plenty of time to chat and enjoy the neighborhood. The walk will end at Eroilor Metro Station, and anyone who feels like staying a little longer is welcome to join for a coffee or snack at one of the many nice cafés in the area.
The Meetup event is limited to 10 people, but anyone is welcome to join.
Come along for a relaxed Saturday afternoon, good company, and a chance to discover a different side of Bucharest.
