It is time for the final meetup of 2019, but we will close this year with a very special, Christmas edition themed event! 馃巺馃巹馃帀

Besides the scheduled talks, we'll have a raffle/quiz where you'll have the chance to win various gifts (books, vouchers, licenses, swag, ...)
offered up by our sponsors to this great community. We've done something similar 2 years ago, which was still one of the best meetup experiences (https://www.meetup.com/budapest-js/photos/28395948/) we had and still cherish dearly!
So come join us in celebrating another year of JavaScript!

Norbert Sram (CTO @ GoodGrind)
CROSSING BORDERS WITH JAVASCRIPT

While planning your road trip to BudapestJS, you are entering the lovely country of Hungary through one of its border crossings.
You quickly realize, that there is no accurate information that you can write into your itinerary. You are only given a warning, that you "might" cross country borders.
Whether that will take 15 minutes or 3 hours... you don't know. Fret not, JavaScript is here to help you!
In this talk, I'll walk you through an end-to-end JavaScript based solution for determining the border crossing wait times, thus improving your planning experience for visiting BudapestJS!
We'll touch upon the subject of gathering data, making use of existing tooling, fine-tuning and improving the predictions and the trade-offs you'll face.
By the end, you will have an idea on how to tackle real-world problems by using machine learning and your trusty tool, JavaScript.

TOWARDS MICRO FRONTENDS

Micro frontend is an emerging topic nowadays: decoupled code bases and independent deployment are benefits that should not be neglected in today's fast changing environment. Building such an application is not an easy task, even if you start it from scratch. But what happens if you have to "split up" your existing application into smaller pieces because the requirements changed?
In my presentation I will talk about how we made one step towards micro frontend, starting from a monolithic Angular application.
