Komatsubara Persecution Memorial Service

November 11 marks the anniversary of the Komatsubara Persecution, when Nichiren Shōnin and his followers were attacked in 1264 for spreading the Lotus Sutra. Two disciples, Kyōnin-bō and Kyōchi-bō, gave their lives protecting their teacher. This service honors their courage and the unshakable faith that transforms adversity into the path of enlightenment.
