Discussion Topic: Brutal Honesty vs. Radical Honesty
Details
Our meetings provide a safe space in which to discuss the challenges and joys of life in a peaceful environment.
This month we'll discuss radical honesty and transparency.
Buddhist Boot Camp events are always free so that anyone can attend. But if you're in a position to contribute and want to show your support, please consider chipping in (https://secure.meetup.com/BuddhistBootCamp/contribute/). You are very much appreciated!
Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to bring a friend or two. All you need is an open mind, and to be prepared to accept that other people's truth is just as real to them as yours is to you, even when it directly contradicts your own.
We are soldiers of peace in the army of love. Buddhism is all about training the mind, and boot camp is an ideal training method for this generation's short attention span.
It is very possible (and perfectly okay) for people who are Catholic, Muslim or Jewish, for example, to still find the Buddha's teachings motivational.
As the Dalai Lama says, "Don’t try to use what you learn from Buddhism to be a Buddhist; use it to be a better whatever-you-already-are.”
