Informal Coffee - 7:30 am on Main near UB

We're meeting at Lake Effect Diner (https://www.lakeeffectdiner.com/) on Thursday, July 31 at 7:30 am and we can chat all things WordPress ...or not, as we see fit. This is an informal gathering to get to know one another and talk shop.

There were six of us at WP Buffalo’s Meetup July 17 at Jam Parkside, including myself, Annette, Becky, Sandra, Bill, and Josh (of CraftologyWNY https://www.craftologywny.com/). Among other things we discussed:
· Using AI for content and grammar
· Microsoft products
· Mac vs Windows
· Having our parents as teachers in High School
· Using Google fonts, Adobe fonts, and custom fonts
· Elementor's custom font feature
· How viruses can sneak into a site via Google fonts
· Variable font files tendency to slow down sites
· Google added lots of fonts and has around 1800 now
· The Birchfield Penney Art Center isn't having their holiday sale this year so Bill and his artist wife, Mary Joy (https://maryjoyart.com/), are building a landing page to make their own
· Using a floppy disk as a coaster
· Becky is carrying products at REI Amherst!
· Vacations & travel plans
· Charles sent us pictures of beach buggies in Brazil
· WordCamp Ottowa in October
· Crossing the border into Canada and getting stopped or not
· Snoop Dog's affirmations

I schedule these events at different venues around WNY so everyone can join if they want (and don't want to drive half an hour first thing on a Thursday). If there's another neighborhood or coffee house you'd like me to plan for, put it in the chat. I'm always up for finding new local coffee places.
