Informal Coffee - 9:00 am in Amherst

We’re meeting at Sheridan Family Restaurant in Amherst on Wednesday, October 1 at 9am and we can chat all things WordPress ...or not, as we see fit. This is an informal gathering to get to know one another and talk shop.

There were four of us at our Meetup September 11 at Red Otter Coffee in Kenmore, including Freed, Becky, Bill, Sandi, and Charles. Among other things we discussed:

• Trying to stop subscription services that have been auto-renewed
• How your external calls are affected by using Google fonts vs hosting the fonts in the server, and how these differences affect performance optimization
• Sandy has a technique for keeping sites lighter by using dynamic font files during the design phase then substituting static font files once she’s decided which weights she’s going to use

• Using AI for various aspects of writing content, i.e., writing to the audience

I schedule these events at different venues around WNY so everyone can join if they want (and don't want to drive half an hour first thing on a Thursday). If there's another neighborhood or coffee house you'd like me to plan for, put it in the chat. I'm always up for finding new local coffee places.
